Andrew McCollister (circa 1790 - 1836)
Andrew McCollister, by family tradition, is the pregenitor in my branch of the family. Andrew is found in the 1820 and 1830 "Old 96 District" census of SC. Some time in late 1830 or early 1831, Andrew and family moved to Lincoln Co., Tn. The move may have been made with some members of the ARP Church. Also, it seems that Andrew may have had a close relationship with the William HICKLIN family. Andrew is said to have died in either 1836 or 1840. After his death, his remaining family appears to have moved in with John Hicklin (see 1840, 1850 TN census) John was a grandson of William Hicklin. Perhaps Andrew's spouse was a Hicklin, or Andrew had a sister who married a HICKLIN?
